How long does therapy take?My model of working is a tailor-made model for an individual or couple specific needs and difficulties. Some people come for short term work and others will stay for a long-term therapy, some could also benefit of a few consultations. I don’t set a fixed amount of sessions to therapy unless there is a reason to do so.
-
What to expect? After carful consultation over one or two sessions, I will suggest the best way forward for your particular difficulties. I can offer a range of different interventions to your specific needs.
-
What are your terms?I have a 48-hour cancellation policy for initial and/or one-off appointments. Once we begin to work together, I will reserve the agreed time for you in my diary and all sessions offered will be charged for. Sessions last fifty minutes and take place weekly. If you are unable to attend a particular session, I may be able to reschedule it in the same week, but this can’t be guaranteed, and the session will be charged for. I have breaks from therapy at Christmas, Easter and in the summer.
-
Do you offer remote sessions? My preference is to see people in person in my consulting room. However, at times it is difficult or not possible and the option of remote work is available. Unlike when you come to see me in person, the responsibility for creating a safe and confidential space for therapy is now shared with you. It requires being in a different mental space. Creating this mental space requires you reassuring you have privacy, that all other devices except the one you are using are turned off, and that the setting is as professional as possible. It is also advisable not to jump immediately from another activity into your session or after the session. I offer remote appointments through Zoom, which has end-to-end encryption which maximises the security and confidentiality of the session.
